“It is a certainty that by next year, and certainly by 2013, the world of education, skills and pedagogy will have changed yet again, and yet the fundamental purpose of the professional teacher and the trainer will have remained steadfast: to continuously develop and learn as much as possible themselves, to become ever more expert teachers and trainers for their learners, and to pass on the skills of learning and development to colleagues” (2009–10 IfL review of CPD: Excellence in professional development: Looking back, looking forward, p17)

The college has devised a comprehensive teacher development programme that focuses specifically upon developing skills that will enable staff to adequately plan for learning. We want staff to be subject specialists, experts in their field, with up-to-date teaching methodologies that enable them to deliver highly individualised learning. CPD will be at the heart of the appraisal process and will engender a culture of review, reflection and evaluation where development is seen as an important part of an individual’s progress and their overall contribution to the progress of the college. We want to share out passion for teaching and are publishing best practice in order to stimulate debate, enthuse and motivate others to look at their own working practices.

I will be publishing lesson plans, Schemes of Work, e-Learning materials and much more. The links are at the bottom of the blog or will be embedded through slide share presentations.
